ICL's Rayudu flags off the Youth Premier League

ICL Hyderabad Heroes' batting mainstay Ambati Rayudu today inaugurated the Youth Premier League, a knock out cricket tournament featuring the top 10 colleges of the city. The YPL is part of month long YoMania youth festival being organized by BBS Studios and Brand Strategies. 

YoMania!, a revolutionary concept, is Hyderabad's biggest youth festival, featuring thirty days of non-stop entertainment and fun, packed with fierce competition and enthusiastic participation. The concept of Yo!Mania is to bring out the best of talent from every college bringing them on a common platform thereby showcasing it to the outside world. Yo!Mania comprises of various innovative events like YPL(Youth Premiere League), Dance Competitions, Fashion Shows, YFF(Youth Film Festival), Photography and 2K-Run.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambati Rayudu, Hyderabad's prodigial batting ace, said, "I wish all the youngsters all the very best and hope they make most of this platform provided to them to showcase their skills. On behalf of the Hyderabad Heroes team, I extend my best wishes to the Youth Premier League. I welcome these youngsters to come forward to me or any of my Hyderabad Heroes' colleagues for any help or assistance in furthering their cricketing careers."

A total of ten teams will face off one another in a knock format from 6th January to 8th January, 2009 at the Sanath Nagar Cricket Grounds. The playoffs were decided in accordance to lots drawn by the Hyderabad ace Rayudu and are as following:

1. St. Marys Yousufguda vs CBIT

2. Aurora College vs PDS MIT College

3. Methodist Engineering College vs Indoor Institute

4. St. Pauls Degree College vs St. Marys Engineering College

5. JNTU Engineering vs Deccan Engineering College
